Book Review: Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell (SPOILERS)

So, I read Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell during this years BookTube-A-Thon and decided to record a review. This is actually more of a rant then a review and quite long, but I still hope you guys enjoy.

Also, I should mention that I gave the book 4outof5Stars. If you want to find out why this book only got 4 stars then you’ve got to watch the video.

Book Review: The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher

This book gave me so much insight into Carrie Fisher’s world. Reading about the whole process of getting cast as Leia, filming, promoting the film, and fan encounters was fascinating to read about and of course the parts about Harrison Ford were intriguing to me. I liked how similar yet different Carrie’s perspective, in the past and in present day, was on her relationship with Harrison. Her journals during her affair and filming the first Star Wars were interesting, but sometimes did drag a little bit. Not saying that’s a bad thing, but I actually found the parts in the book written by Carrie, in present time, a lot more interesting then her diary entries.
I wanted to give this a four, but I just couldn’t. I’d actually give it 3.5outof5Stars. This was the first book by Carrie Fisher I’ve ever read, and I really enjoyed it, and I definitely want to read more of her work.

Book Review: milk and honey by rupi kaur

So I am not a big poetry person, I mean I appreciate it, but it’s hard for me to read. Which is why I usually shy away from poetry/poetry collections, but I had heard so many good things about Milk and Honey that when I saw it a store recently I decided to get it. Then randomly today I started to read it and holy crap this was so good.

Book Review – Black Canary and Zatanna: Bloodspell by Paul Dini and Joe Quinones

Oh my goodness, this was such a fun read. I loved reading/learning more about Dinah. It was also nice to see her relationship with Oliver in this one. I think besides getting more Dinah, it was also nice to learn about Zatanna. I’ve heard of her, but I’ve never really known anything about her, so now I need to definitely read more about her. It was also cool to see snippets of the other members of the Justice League throughout the story.
Overall, really interesting storyline, enjoyed all the characters, and was a fun read.

I’d give Bloodspell 4outof5Stars.

Book Review – Batman: The Killing Joke by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland

Wanted to read this before I watched the movie. Really enjoyed it and the movie was okay. I think the thing I really liked about it was Joker’s whole reason for why he does what he does to Gordon & Barbara. I just like the psychology of it, you know? How he believes that everyone in the world can have that “one bad day” happen to them & they will instantly go insane like he did. It’s really fascinating to me, plus the ending is also quite interesting. It felt a little abrupt, but still enjoyable. First Batman comic I’ve read and now I just want to read more.
